Job Description

Job Summary:

  • The Clinical Program Senior Advisor, Academic Detailing, supports provider engagement initiatives by identifying and communicating evidence-based prescribing opportunities to healthcare providers.
  • This role analyzes medication utilization patterns and clinical data to facilitate provider discussions that promote safe, effective, and cost-conscious prescribing practices aligned with client objectives.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Identify, prioritize, and communicate evidence-based prescribing opportunities to healthcare providers through ClientID academic detailing and provider engagement activities.
  • Analyze pharmacy claims, prescribing patterns, and clinical data to identify opportunities that support clinically appropriate, guideline-concordant, and cost-effective medication use.
  • Educate healthcare providers on therapeutic alternatives, formulary strategies, generic utilization, and best prescribing practices to improve clinical and financial outcomes.
  • Leverage Client’ analytics platforms and reporting tools to monitor prescribing trends, evaluate program performance, and identify opportunities for provider outreach and intervention.
  • Collaborate with clients, Client account teams, and cross-functional stakeholders to develop and implement provider engagement strategies aligned with client objectives and organizational goals.
  • Deliver evidence-based clinical information and recommendations to prescribers to support quality improvement initiatives, trend management, and formulary optimization efforts.
  • Document provider interactions, recommendations, and intervention outcomes, and maintain accurate records to demonstrate program impact and support reporting requirements.
  • Measure and communicate clinical and financial outcomes resulting from provider engagement activities and prescribing interventions.
  • Participate in staff meetings, committees, and departmental initiatives to share best practices, improve provider engagement strategies, and enhance operational effectiveness.
  • Contribute to formal and informal training programs, professional development activities, and knowledge-sharing sessions to support team growth and continuous learning.
  • Provide cross-coverage and support for other clinical program functions as needed and perform additional responsibilities as assigned by management or the client.

Required Experience:

  • Active pharmacist license in good standing and a minimum of three (3) years of experience in a Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM), managed care, clinical pharmacy, or related healthcare environment.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to effectively engage healthcare providers and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing business needs.
  • Experience using data, reporting, and analytics tools to identify opportunities and support decision-making.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Self-motivated with a commitment to delivering high-quality service and achieving positive clinical and financial outcomes.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and a proactive approach to supporting team and client objectives.
