Job Description

Job Summary:

  • The Lab Support Technician supports the daily operations of the Eugene site by providing hands-on laboratory support services to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient lab environments.
  • This role assists with routine lab activities, including autoclaving, glasswashing, buffer and media preparation, PPE restocking, waste handling, EHS support, and basic equipment upkeep.
  • The technician works closely with internal teams and external vendors to coordinate support activities, maintain accurate records, and ensure labs are operationally ready.
  • This position plays a key role in maintaining lab standards and contributing to consistent, reliable lab operations.
  • This position reports to the Lab Support Manager and is part of the Workplace Team located in Eugene, OR and will be an on‐site full‐time role.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform core lab support operations, including autoclave use, glasswashing, buffer and media preparation, and maintaining adequate PPE stock for daily lab needs.
  • Support lab safety and compliance activities by managing chemical and biological waste, and completing routine inspections of safety equipment such as eyewash stations and safety showers.
  • Assist with equipment upkeep and service coordination, including basic preventative maintenance tasks, and communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and external vendors to support lab operations.

Essential Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, with hands-on experience in a support role within laboratory, safety, facilities, or general workplace operations.
  • Good organizational and communication skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks, work with vendors, and keep clear and accurate records.
  • Proficiency with standard office tools (such as email, calendars, spreadsheets, and ticketing systems) and comfort working in an on‐site, customer‐facing environment.

Previous Experience:

  • Basic lab bench skills or hands on experience in a laboratory environment.
  • Familiarity with lab safety practices, including biological material handling.
  • Experience tracking or managing inventory, supplies, or stock levels.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform physical tasks required for the role, including routinely lifting up to 15 lbs and occasionally lifting up to 50 lbs, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to stand and move throughout the workday based on operational needs, with or without reasonable accommodation.
