Job Description

Job Summary:

  • The Formulation Technician is responsible for the formulation of buffers and reagents using a variety of laboratory equipment to supply the CONL (labeled container) and Kitting manufacturing operations.
  • You will also be responsible for performing in-process testing of materials using pH, conductivity, oxygen analysis, water content, etc.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct chemical and physical laboratory formulations to support both the Mass Spectrometry and Capillary Electrophoresis product lines.
  • Perform CONL and kitting operations as needed to support manufacturing and production goals.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, team leads, and managers to identify and resolve issues, maintain lab cleanliness, ensure inventory accuracy, and verify product quality meets specifications.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in performing all assigned formulation, CONL, kitting, and related laboratory/manufacturing tasks as directed by the manager or supervisor, including reprioritizing activities, supporting cross-functional needs, assisting in other production areas, responding to urgent production/troubleshooting demands, and contributing to process improvements to meet quality, safety, and delivery objectives in a fast-paced environment.

Education and Experience:

  • BA/BS degree in a related scientific discipline.
  • A minimum of 1 year experience in a biotech lab environment or equivalent.

Previous Experiences:

  • A laboratory utilizing mass spectrometry or capillary electrophoresis.
  • An industrial laboratory or manufacturing facility.

Physical Requirements:

  • Knowledge of the chemical composition, structure, and properties of substances and of the chemical processes and transformations that they undergo.
  • This includes the use of chemicals and their interactions, danger signs, production techniques, and disposal methods.
  • Able to lift, move, or carry equipment up to 50lbs.
  • Able to stand for extended periods (1 shift).
