Job Description

Job Summary:

  • We’re seeking a Manufacturing Scientist to join our dynamic team.
  • This position requires a bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biochemistry, biology or equivalent.
  • The successful candidate must possess general chemical laboratory skills, with experience in bioconjugation chemistry.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Produce and analyze fluorescent protein-based products to meet customer requirements and timelines.
  • Use HPLC, FPLC and gravimetric separation techniques to purify and analyze fluorescent dye labeled antibodies and other biomolecules.
  • Analyze and interpret scientific data.
  • Utilize specialized technical knowledge and skills.
  • Maintain professional communication with representatives from other departments and teams as required.
  • Work to achieve department goals and business objectives for safety, quality, and timely completion of work.

Education:

  • Minimum of BS/BA Degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology or related subject area.

Experience:

  • Proficient in general chemical and biological laboratory techniques and procedures such as antibody handling purification, pipetting, UV-vis spectroscopy and safe handling of biological materials and chemical.
  • Experience in one bioconjugation chemistry is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment under pressure and be able to multi-task.
  • Proven ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
  • Outstanding attention to detail.

Physical Requirements:

  • The position requires ordinary ambulatory skills and physical coordination sufficient to move about office locations; the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, and crouch periodically for prolonged periods of time; manipulation (lift, carry, move) of light to medium weights about 20 pounds, occasionally.
