Lab Technician

Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities:

Cleaning services:

• Glassware.
• Fermenters (vessel & headplate).
• Lab equipment.
• General lab cleaning.

Fermenter maintenance:

• Tubing replacement.
• Seal assembly/impeller replacement.
• Pressure relief valve testing & replacement.
• Probe calibration.

Glassware maintenance:

• Tubing replacement.

Provide the following support services throughout the site:

• Lab supply restocking.
• Glassware cleaning.
• Stock media preparation.
• Stock solution preparation.
• Acid, base, metals and vitamins.
• Bulk autoclave cycle scheduling.
• Consumables ordering assistance.
• Other duties as assigned, as time allows.

Requirements:

• Flexible work hours to include all shifts, weekends and weekdays, not to exceed 40 accumulative hours per week.
• Lift, up to 50 lbs.
• Stand for up to 8 hrs.
• Familiarity with MS Office Suite.
• Familiarity with following SOPs.
• Understanding of basic algebra and proportions.
