Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Perform recombinant protein purification using established laboratory procedures and protocols.
  • Execute multiple protein purification projects simultaneously following training.
  • Conduct protein quality control (QC) testing and analytical characterization.
  • Support biophysical analyses to evaluate protein properties and performance.
  • Collaborate with a larger team responsible for antigen generation and biotherapeutic research.
  • Maintain accurate laboratory records and documentation.
  • Assist with additional laboratory activities as needed, including: Protein expression, Stable cell line development, Cell culture activities, DNA-related workflows
  • Follow laboratory safety procedures and regulatory requirements, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Responsible for purifying several recombinant proteins a week. Routine protein labelling and final characterization (Client proteins and mAb/Fab, labelling, all labels including fluors, biotin, etc). Assistance for weekly western blots and possible transient and stable mammalian cell maintenance.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Immunology, or a related scientific discipline with relevant laboratory experience.
  • Hands-on experience with protein purification techniques.
  • Strong understanding of protein biology and biochemical principles.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to learn new techniques quickly and work effectively in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in a relevant scientific field.

Experience with:

  • Protein biochemistry
  • Biophysical characterization techniques
  • Immunology
  • Antibody-related research
  • Mammalian cell culture
  • Stable cell line generation
  • Recombinant protein expression
  • Prior experience working in a research or biotechnology laboratory environment.
