Job Summary:
- An Application Engineer/Scientist III within the Downstream Application department will assist in the design, development, and testing of Client chromatography products and technologies suitable for the manufacture of therapeutic biopharmaceuticals.
- In this role as a scientist/engineer, you will contribute to technology and product development projects to deliver advanced chromatography technologies intended for a wide range of bioprocessing applications.
Duties and Responsibilities:
You will apply solid scientific and engineering principles to:
- Design and test prototype chromatography products in a collaborative environment;
- Develop materials, devices, and methods that achieve cost and performance objectives;
- Summarize experimental results and conclusions to the project team through written reports and technical presentations;
- Take initiative to solve technical challenges;
- Guide junior members of the team.
Qualifications:
- PhD in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, applied science or an equivalent degree in a related technical area.
- Open to recent/green grads as long as they hold a PhD.
- Previous experience with a chromatography system is required.
- Hands-on problem solver, comfortable with modern laboratory techniques and procedures.
- Complies with all necessary EHS safety regulations.
- Must be able to work collaboratively within a team, including manufacturing, quality, and procurement functions, through development and validation phases to support a successful product launch.
- Seeks out feedback and responds appropriately to input from other R&D peer groups.
Demonstrates good communication skills and an ability to deliver clear, concise technical presentations.
