Job Description

Job Summary:

  • The Technician is part of an assembly team responsible for the manufacturing of specific chemistries used in the medical diagnostics field.
  • This role is critical to the healthcare industry and is critical to allow doctors and lab technicians to quickly and accurately diagnose patients all over the world.
  • We are looking for talented individuals with the ability to follow complex instructions, step-by-step procedures, with a critical eye for detail and accuracy.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Buffer/Reagent formulation, including:
  • Mixing.
  • Adjusting pH.
  • Testing on various equipment, including but not limited to spectrophotometers and various client instruments.
  • Regular use of computers for:
  • Routine tasks.
  • Data generation and analysis
  • Time reporting.
  • Online training.
  • Email communication.
  • Maintaining clean and safe work areas, including:
  • Sweeping.
  • Mopping.
  • Dusting.
  • Calibration and regular maintenance of instrumentation.
  • Cleaning and assembly of:
  • Glassware.
  • Components used in processing.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate’s (AA) degree or basic chemistry laboratory classes.
  • Focus on chemical and/or biological sciences preferred.
  • Science knowledge of basic lab techniques such as:
  • pH adjusting
  • Buffer preparation.
  • Minimum of 6 months to 1 year related experience in a GMP/GLP lab.
  • Fluent in English (spoken, written, and reading).
  • Past working experience and knowledge of government-regulated work environments highly desired.
  • Basic computer skills, including:
  • MS Office
  • Outlook
  • Timekeeping systems.

Preferred Skills & Experience:

Technical Skills:

  • Experience working in a regulated laboratory environment.
  • Buffer formulation.
  • Reagent formulation.
  • Measuring and adjusting pH.
  • Performing basic calculations.
  • Adhering to housekeeping standards.
  • Experience with larger-scale formulation processes preferred.
  • Team formulates buffers up to 1000L weekly.

Soft Skills:

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to execute tasks independently after training.
  • Strong attention to detail.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
