Laboratory Technician

Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Following established procedures to setup, fill and test various microplates.
• Analyze large datasets using Excel and other advanced data analysis software.
• Contribute to group problem solving and process improvement activities.

Education and Experience:

• Have at least an AS degree in a Life Science, Chemistry, or Engineering technology discipline (required)
• Minimum 2 years relevant experience in a technical, manufacturing or laboratory position.
• Must be familiar with laboratory equipment such as centrifuges, micropipettes and analytical balance.
• Prior work experience with automation, plate readers, liquid handling equipment (Beckman, Agilent, Hamilton).
• Experience with SQL, Python, or other programming languages (not required – this is a plus).

Proficiency in PC applications skills:

• MS Word, Excel, MS Access, Windows Explorer.

Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:

• Ability to lift, move or carry equipment up to 35lb (not usual)
• Ability to do repetitive work..
