Job Description
Job Summary:
- Biomedicine Design’s Endogenous Antibody Discovery Group is seeking a Senior Associate Scientist (contingent worker) to support antibody discovery projects focused on B cell-based workflows.
- This role will contribute to therapeutic antibody discovery campaigns using rodent immunization, serum titer screening, B cell sorting by flow cytometry, immune library generation, and hybridoma-based methods.
- The successful candidate will execute established laboratory workflows that support immunization-based discovery, including rodent selection, immunization strategies (protein, cell-based, and genetic), serum response evaluation by ELISA, flow cytometry, VH/VL molecular cloning, immune library generation and quality control, electrofusion, and hybridoma culture and screening.
- The role will also contribute to the evaluation and implementation of new technologies that enhance immunization and flow cytometry-based antibody discovery workflows in collaboration with other group members.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide laboratory support for therapeutic antibody discovery campaigns using flow cytometry, immune library generation, and hybridoma-based methods.
- Execute established workflows to support rodent immunization studies, serum titer screening, B cell sorting, molecular cloning, and related sample processing activities.
- Maintain reagent inventories, prepare laboratory materials, and ensure operational readiness for discovery activities.
- Document experimental procedures, results, and observations accurately in laboratory records and internal data systems.
- Summarize data and communicate key findings, experimental progress, and campaign outcomes to project teams.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in biology, immunology, molecular biology, biochemistry, or a related scientific discipline, with at least 2 years of full-time laboratory experience in an academic or industry setting.
- Experience with flow cytometry-based analysis or cell sorting.
- Experience with laboratory automation or high-throughput workflows.
- Experience working with rodents, particularly mice, in a research setting.
- Experience working with hybridoma generation, culture, or screening workflows.
- Hands-on experience supporting antibody discovery workflows, including flow cytometry, B cell-based methods, or hybridoma-based screening.
- Experience with laboratory documentation, data organization, and communicating experimental results clearly to project teams.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Working knowledge of molecular biology techniques such as PCR, cloning, and immune library generation or related sample preparation workflows.
- Strong laboratory organization skills, including reagent handling, inventory support, and maintaining materials needed for experimental workflows.
Interview Process:
- Initial phone/video interview with Hiring Manager.
- Onsite panel interview with team members.
