Job Description

Job Summary:

  • An Application Engineer/Scientist III within the Downstream Application department will assist in the design, development, and testing of Client chromatography products and technologies suitable for the manufacture of therapeutic biopharmaceuticals.
  • In this role as a scientist/engineer, you will contribute to technology and product development projects to deliver advanced chromatography technologies intended for a wide range of bioprocessing applications.

Duties and Responsibilities:

You will apply solid scientific and engineering principles to:

  • Design and test prototype chromatography products in a collaborative environment;
  • Develop materials, devices, and methods that achieve cost and performance objectives;
  • Summarize experimental results and conclusions to the project team through written reports and technical presentations;
  • Take initiative to solve technical challenges;
  • Guide junior members of the team.

Qualifications:

  • PhD in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, applied science or an equivalent degree in a related technical area.
  • Open to recent/green grads as long as they hold a PhD.
  • Previous experience with a chromatography system is required.
  • Hands-on problem solver, comfortable with modern laboratory techniques and procedures.
  • Complies with all necessary EHS safety regulations.
  • Must be able to work collaboratively within a team, including manufacturing, quality, and procurement functions, through development and validation phases to support a successful product launch.
  • Seeks out feedback and responds appropriately to input from other R&D peer groups.
    Demonstrates good communication skills and an ability to deliver clear, concise technical presentations.
