Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform small-scale compounding for Perfumery & Beauty projects, supporting both local and global formula requirements.
  • Prepare fragrance compounds by accurately weighing ingredients using automated systems.
  • Ensure all raw materials meet quality standards and are within expiration dates.
  • Meet daily manual pour and formula metrics as defined by the lab.
  • Assist with overflow work during periods of high volume.
  • Maintain an organized collection of raw materials and ensure proper inventory management.
  • Keep the laboratory clean, safe, and well-organized at all times.
  • Identify process inefficiencies and propose improvements in line with Lean Management principles.
  • Ensure strict compliance with SHE (Safety, Health, and Environment) procedures and proactively contribute to lab safety enhancements.
  • Wear appropriate PPE (gloves, goggles, lab coat, closed-toe shoes) and follow all safety protocols to prevent contamination.
  • Use internal tools independently and efficiently for data collection, recording, and administration.
  • Stay informed about technologies and trends relevant to the role.
  • Actively contribute to team success, collaborating to achieve shared goals.

Education:

  • Required: High School Diploma or GED.
  • Preferred: College degree in Science, Chemistry, or Engineering.

  • Maintain awareness of other projects within the lab to ensure alignment and efficiency.

Key Details:

  • Previous experience in perfumery or FMCG strongly preferred.
  • Must be very computer/system savvy – MS Office Suite experience required.
  • Not manufacturing scale – this is small-scale laboratory compounding at the creative level.
  • No respirator mask required.
  • Closed shoes/no heels.
  • Focus on quality, precision, and process improvement – The role emphasizes accuracy and attention to detail while applying innovative thinking to enhance efficiencies and optimize workflows.

Previous Experience:

  • 2–5 years in a laboratory and/or compounding environment.
  • Previous experience in a perfumery or FMCG company strongly preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions.
  • Familiarity with laboratory safety standards and SHE compliance.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills is a must.
  • Basic knowledge of Lean principles is a plus.
  • Comfortable working with automated systems and digital tools.
