Job Description
Job Summary:
- Contractor, Medical Education & Training – Oncology, will support the Oncology Medical Communications team and is responsible for development of medical communications deliverables for use by Global and US Medical Affairs, aligned with the Medical Affairs strategic plan for assigned therapeutic area(s).
- These deliverables include development and review of compliant scientific exchange materials to be used in external interactions with KOLs (i.e. by MSLs), advisory boards, congress reports, internal medical affairs strategic communication tools (i.e. medical narratives) and other internal medical affairs training and education materials (i.e. core MA training modules).
- The contractor will work cross-functionally with the broader Medical Affairs team as appropriate.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Development of high-quality internal and external medical resources, including reactive/proactive MSL slide presentations, advisory board materials, internal training materials, congress reports, and other scientific exchange resources.
- Ensure development of scientific content is relevant, accurate, and aligns with the Medical Communications strategy.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on deliverables.
- Conduct literature reviews and stay updated on latest publications to integrate new information into existing resources.
- Follow appropriate review and approval processes according to client policies and procedures.
- Workflow task management and tracking of multiple projects.
- Reference library management, including keeping up with published literature, uploading key papers and congress materials to library, maintaining reference library catalog, and updating training guides.
Education and Experience:
- Advanced degree in medical and/or scientific field required (PharmD, PhD, MD, or MS, etc…)
- 2-4 years of medical writing or content development experience required.
- At least 2 years of experience in a medical affairs role within the pharmaceutical industry preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Solid understanding of oncology therapeutic area required.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines consistently.
- Strong knowledge and application of Microsoft Office Applications including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Organized with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to analyze and interpret scientific literature, and incorporate data in existing and new medical resources.
- Veeva Vault experience is preferred.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to interpret feedback (verbal or written) from key stakeholders and apply to deliverables.
- Desire to innovate and work in a fast paced, energetic environment with multiple priorities.
