Job Description
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the execution and analysis of experiments and analytical procedures.
- Display an investigative or technological orientation in designing, executing, and interpreting experiments and analytical procedures.
- Investigate basic technical problems and perform routine scientific procedures and experiments under general supervision.
- Plan and prioritize concurrent experimental procedures.
- Integrate, compile, and tabulate data; assist supervisor in the analysis and interpretation of results.
- May provide oral presentations on results to other department members.
- Work under active supervision, following established procedures.
- Work is reviewed for soundness of technical judgment and overall adequacy and accuracy.
- Contribute to the completion of milestones associated with specific projects.
- Failure to achieve results or erroneous execution may cause delays in program schedules and may result in the allocation of additional resources.
- Frequent internal company contacts; infrequent inter-departmental and outside constituent contacts on routine matters.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry or a related chemical discipline.
- 3–6 years post-school experience is required.
- Ability to work on a 12-month contract with potential for extension (budget/performance dependent).
- Comfortable handling automation in laboratory workflows.
- Must have experience with HPLC and automation, Capillary Electrophoresis (CE).
- Familiarity with software tools similar to Empower and Chem Station.
- Assist with testing using laboratory instruments.
- Ability to work effectively in a team of 10–15 members.
Must have skills:
- HPLC and automation, Capillary Electrophoresis experience, (2 of 3 skills combination of this experience is required).
- HPLC, chemistry-based assay experience is important.
- MS office Outlook.
Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Empower and ChemStation nice have experience.
- Quick learner and open-minded attitude.
- Experience with high-throughput or automated lab instrumentation.
- Exposure to analytical method development or troubleshooting.
