Job Description

Job Summary:

  • To provide technical laboratory research effort in support of multiple projects focused on expedited evaluation and the clinical translation of therapies.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with research scientist to plan and perform lab-based studies to support project efforts.
  • Work with human and/or rodent tissues to develop and optimize staining and analyses protocol.
  • Achieve business goals, share information, learnings, knowledge and skills and promote cross-functional teamwork.
  • Support project management efforts in standard operating procedure creation, sharing knowledge and skills, and fostering cross-functional teamwork.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues.

Physical Requirements:

  • No overnight travel required
  • Works with human and/or animal blood and tissue.
  • Works in a laboratory environment that may include hazardous chemicals and blood borne pathogens.
  • Lab exposure may include hazardous chemicals and blood-borne pathogens

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 3-5 years of experience post-degree or Masters degree with a minimum of 2 years exp.
  • In-life operations: Rodent handling, dosing via different routes of administrations (IV, IP, SC, Oral gavage etc), bleeding the mice with tail or cheek, cardiac stick and necropsy; collaborating cross-functionally to promote efficient operations in a high-volume on-site animal care facility (ACF).
  • Tissue sample processing (protein and mRNA) for downstream bioassays.
  • Generating and analysing molecular assay data using a variety of methodologies (examples: quantitative imaging, qRT-PCR, plate-based assays, enzyme assays) with rigorous scientific standards, troubleshooting where needed, and careful documentation practices.
  • Careful documentation practices, i.e., maintenance of electronic laboratory notebooks
  • Experience with automated laboratory equipment, complex machinery, and familiarity of high throughput data production principles are a plus.
  • Experience with client for reporter expression analysis are a plus
  • Experience with Immunohistochemistry, in situ hybridization, automated strainer etc. are a plus
  • Data package preparation and presentation are a plus.
  • Ability to carry out complex protocols required.
  • Strong analytical skills for integrating and interpreting interdisciplinary data.
  • Experience working in a team environment with participation in team and departmental meetings required, industry (CRO, pharmaceutical, biotech) experience is preferred.
  • Role requires proactive communication skills and cross-cultural understanding to interact within a global organization.
  • Must be comfortable in asking for clarification and offering suggestions.
  • Strong analytical skills for integrating and interpreting interdisciplinary data.
  • Must love to learn, be ambitious, and be determined to contribute to improving patients’ well-being.
