Job Description
Job Summary:
- We are currently seeking a Technician III for the Filtration Research and Development (R&D) Applications Group within Client Sigma’s Process Solutions business unit.
- A Technician III within this group is responsible for performing filtration applications testing and experiments in a laboratory supporting Client filtration product/technology projects.
- They will work closely with engineers/scientists to execute experiments and deliver high quality results as part of larger R&D projects.
- They will be expected to perform a variety of R&D laboratory tasks with minimal guidance, document the work in an electronic laboratory notebook, and perform some experimental troubleshooting within project deadlines.
- In addition, a Technician III is expected to provide basic feedback on experimental planning, completing basic preliminary data analysis, and help organize the results.
- They must be able to follow detailed experimental protocols to execute experiments under limited guidance and may develop experimental test protocols and write reports.
- Knowledge and conformance to all health & safety procedures will be required for the laboratory and equipment being used.
Education and Experience:
- Associate’s Degree in Biology, Biochemistry, or other Life Science discipline OR Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or other Engineering discipline.
- High School Diploma or GED and 5+ years of laboratory experience.
- Experience working within a laboratory following protocols, mixing solutions according to detailed recipes, documenting findings in a laboratory notebook, performing basic troubleshooting, and meeting deadlines.
- Experience with biopharmaceutical separations including normal flow filtration, tangential flow filtration and adsorptive media processes.
- Lab experience required.
- Experience with electronic lab notebooks.
- Experience related to product testing during development.
Knowledge & Skills:
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Working knowledge of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) and ergonomic principles.
