Job Description
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Isolates and cultures bacteria and other microorganisms.
- Perform routine passaging and inoculation of various microbes.
- Following culture media recipes and solutions to make stock solutions, agar, media, etc.
- Performing routine microbial lab tasks; plate count, dilution, sampling, etc.
- Setting up fermentation experiments and working with the team to analyze results from the experiments.
- Assists immediate supervisor in other functions and duties as assigned.
- Reviews test results with immediate supervisor and maintains files and records.
- Must be able to work in a high volume/fast paced laboratory with agility for change.
Education and Experience:
- Minimum Education level: Bachelors’ degree in Microbiology, Biology, or Chemistry.
- Minimum Years of Experience: 1-2 years’ experience in a laboratory setting preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of Windows based computer programs.
- Strong technical and interpersonal skills.
- Good communication skills.
- Works well both independently and part of a team.
