Job Description
Job Summary:
- This is a temporary position that will be filled for 6 months, but could be extended longer based on employee’s performance.
- The operation, cleaning and maintenance of laboratory equipment, the preparation of media, buffers, and other reagents.
- Responsible for the maintenance and expansion of mammalian cell lines using aseptic technique.
- Perform chromatography purification experiments.
- Documentation of experimental data and results, data verification and the preparation of study protocols and final reports.
- Perform routine titer evaluations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for assisting in the preparation, storage, packaging and shipping of cell lines and samples.
- Collaborates with cross functional teams and representatives of other organizations outside of Manufacturing Sciences and Technology.
- Assists with troubleshoots process related problems observed at manufacturing scale through the effective design of scale-down studies and the evaluation of data from manufacturing lots.
- Maintain working knowledge of current cell culture literature.
- Assist in all areas of cell culture, purification, and all related duties.
- Occasional night and weekend hours may be required.
Requirements:
- Previous experience with bioreactors and mammalian cell culture is preferred.
- Knowledge of purification (chromatography, dead-end and depth filtration, tangential flow ultrafiltration/diafiltration, viral inactivation and viral filtration) preferred.
- A B.A./B.S./M.S./Ph.D. in Biological or Chemical Sciences/Engineering degree granting program with relevant experience.
