Job Description
Job Summary:
- A Quality Assurance (QA) Technician in the food industry is responsible for ensuring that food products meet established safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
- This role is vital for maintaining product consistency, preventing contamination, and protecting consumer health.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Testing and Inspection:
- Conducting routine and specialized tests on raw materials and finished products.
- They also perform inspections of production areas to verify sanitation and adherence to good manufacturing practices (GMPs).
2. Documentation and Record Keeping:
- Maintaining accurate and detailed records of test results, inspection findings, corrective actions, and other relevant information for audits, traceability, and regulatory compliance.
3. Compliance Monitoring:
- Ensuring that all production activities adhere to established food safety regulations, including those set by the FDA and USDA, and implementing HACCP plans when necessary.
- They also monitor adherence to other food safety programs like GMPs.
4. Equipment Operation and Calibration:
- Operating and calibrating laboratory equipment and testing devices to ensure accurate and reliable results.

- Work closely with production staff, quality control team, and other relevant departments to ensure consistent quality and food safety.
