Job Summary:
- The Protein Engineering group at Client is seeking an experienced researcher to support our molecular biology capabilities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- The primary mission of the group is to design and engineer enzymes, therapeutic proteins/pep Products to enable drug discovery and development.
- This position in our molecular biology team is responsible for DNA related workflow (gene library construction and cloning, high-throughput DNA preparation, and sequencing) to support our protein directed evolution workflow.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in biological science 4+years of experience in molecular biology, or an MS degree with 2+ years or PhD in a molecular biology related discipline.
- Experience with DNA sequencing technologies (Sanger) and sequencing data analysis.
- Experience in protein directed evolution platforms (phage display, yeast display, mRNA display) is plus.
- Experience with high-throughput screening and automated liquid handling is a plus.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- The successful candidate will have hands on experiences in various Molecular Biology techniques, including DNA cloning, DNA purification, PCR, primer design, DNA sequencing and analysis, bacterial transformation and culture.
- Expertise in Molecular Biology Techniques (DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, Cloning, mutagenesis, gel electrophoresis, bacterial transformation and culture.
- Ability to independently design Molecular Cloning works.
- Strong communication and organization skills.
- Excellent teamwork and multitasking.
- Good documentation of experimental reports.
- Molecular Biology and analysis software (Geneious, Benchling, etc.)
- Programming skills (Python, etc.) is plus.
