Job Summary:
- This role is assigned responsibility for intermediate complexity laboratory projects. Generation of test data to specified protocols.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work independently and provide scientific analysis of data (able to apply an intermediate knowledge of scientific principles).
- Identify issues within a project and propose solutions based on current practices or ability to propose new ideas.
- Use independent judgment for individual daily tasks, require minimal supervision.
- Skilled in intermediate laboratory techniques and measurement methods.
- Application of GLP as appropriate, familiar with GMP requirements.
- Practical ability to perform intermediate complexity test work.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Desire to work closely with a diverse team and team player.
- Conversant with PC based programmer.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelors, Masters or PhD in Science (Chemistry or Bio) or Life Science.
- > 3 years of experience in the Biotech industry.
Accountabilities:
1. Test work:
- Execute and ensure intermediate complexity test work is completed as required, with minimal guidance.
- Execute intermediate complexity testing with minimal supervision.
- Write test reports.
- Support intermediate complexity internal test work in support of R&D, NPI, NPD, QC release testing, etc – as required by management.
2. Test preparation:
- Review and ensure job request, relevant MSDS and fully understand requirements is in accordance with laboratory SOPs, without guidance.
- Review and ensure availability of required equipment and materials – prepare or order required materials.
- Review and ensure timelines and discuss schedule conflicts or modifications with laboratory management (and project manager, where necessary).
- Review and ensure documents prepared appropriately using datasheets or laboratory notebooks, with minimal guidance.
3. Performing test:
- Review and ensure test apparatus are readily available and suitable, with minimal guidance.
- Ensure and operate, understand and be able to troubleshoot all equipment/instrumentation necessary to support testing, with minimal guidance.
- Ensure test work is completed according to laboratory request requirements.
- Ensure raw data is recorded into laboratory notebook (or similar).
- Immediately notify laboratory management of any test delays, problems or deviations.
4. Test completion:
- Ensure test equipment and work area are disassembled and clean as needed.
- Ensure laboratory reports meet the laboratory request requirements.
- Ensure projects meet on-time-delivery expectations.
