Job Description

Job Summary:

• The Center for Biological Innovation (CBI) is a client Center of Excellence that utilizes in vitro and ex vivo approaches, such as biochemical, cell-based, microbial, and tissue-based assays to support the design, development and commercialization of client products.
• The successful Laboratory Technician candidate should have appropriate scientific experience to provide the technical support required for supporting in vitro biomedical research studies.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Supporting in vitro hemocompatibility testing of blood contacting devices at the bench.
• Following experimental protocols and executing on tasks both independently and with guidance from senior team members.
• Assisting with preparation of data for reporting and presentation.
• Optimizing and troubleshooting technical assays.
• Maintaining detailed and accurate records.

Education and Experience:

• 3 Years with Associate with Biology degree/diploma or Bachelors, or an equivalent combination of education/work experience.
• Background in Cell Biology.
• Hands-on experience in cell biology techniques, e.g. hemocompatibility testing (highly desirable), microscopy.
• Immunostaining, flow cytometry, and/or cell culture.
• Ability to quickly learn new techniques and adapt in a changing environment.
• Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task.
• Excellent written and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team setting and on an individual basis.
• Results and detail-oriented.
