Job Description
Job Summary:
- Responsible for performing high level of animal handing, dosing, sample collections and data recordings.
- Contribute technical assistance to research projects in the client rodent facility.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs and records daily food and health checks on various pharmacology studies.
- Performs post-procedural and post-surgical monitoring.
- Performs sample and data collection.
- Performs necropsy and tissue collection.
- Receives and maintains adequate stock of animal care and research supplies.
- Technical assistance with injections administration.
- Ability to review, comprehend and comply with all standard operation procedures (SOPs) and quality assurance standards pertaining to laboratory animals.
Education and Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years experience in animal science / lab support.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Experience in animal anesthesia and euthanasia.
- Hands on experience in rodent animal handling and in-life measurements.
- Hands on experience with bleeding and sample collection.
- Dosing animals with different route of administration including PO, IP, and SC
Schedule Notes:
- 40 hours per week, but will need to be available some weekends.
- Weekend hours are sporadic but could be several in a row as needed.
- Weekend support would include both Saturday and Sunday for 5-6 hours total for the weekend.
- Would take time off during the week when working weekends.
- No OT approved for this role.
