Job Description
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform drug product physical and chemical characterization and monitor in-house stability studies to ensure optimal formulation development and selection.
- Contribute to the identification of critical drug product characteristics and biopharmaceutical properties which may impact formulation development and key project deliverables.
- Contribute to in in-vitro performance method development and testing on drug product or intermediates.
- Present scientific data and conclusions within Formulation Sciences and Pharm Sciences departments.
- Enter data in ELN, review data and author reports associated with work executed in the Medicines laboratory.
- Review data/reports associated with physiochemical characterization activities performed by external laboratory partners as needed.
Education and Experience:
- B.Sc. degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related fields with 3+ years or M.S. with 0-2+ years of relevant small molecule development experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Demonstrated knowledge of analytical instruments (HPLC, dissolution, DSC, TGA, SEM, PXRD, particle sizer etc.), and broad knowledge of other techniques used in pharmaceutical development.
- Knowledge of small molecule and solid oral dosage forms.
- Understanding of the physical and chemical characterization of molecules, including solid state and solution properties.
- Familiarity with drug product characterization technologies.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple projects and tasks in a fast pace environment.
- A team player, who listens effectively and invites response and discussion.
- A collaborator who communicates in an open, clear, complete, timely and consistent manner.
