Job Summary:
- Seeking a motivated operational contractor to support the Research Operations organization.
- This individual will play a critical role supporting the Development organization by performing operational tasks relating to purchase order and financial/legal document creation, biology sample inventory management, and process development.
- The responsibilities of this role will involve cross-functional collaboration across the multiple divisions with Discovery as well as additional organizations such as finance and legal.
- The successful candidate will demonstrate a high attention to detail and ability to learn quickly while managing multiple sources of data and information.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support the Development organization’s operational needs relating to document creation and management, data entry, data transfers, and process improvements.
- Help maintain and improve upon the biological sample tracking platform including the addition of new data as well as further development of a digital tracking system.
- Management and organization of onsite samples in lab as well as data management for samples stored both onsite and offsite.
- Support project management efforts, particularly for the TM and QTP organizations.
- Support the vendor service procurement process for sections of the Development organization including the creation and management of purchase orders.
- Aid with the new vendor onboarding process by ensuring all necessary information is provided and following up with relevant parties if any issues arise.
- Work regularly with legal and finance teams to ensure the smooth running of document creation, signage, and execution.
- Create, adopt and/or maintain sample status tracking tools such as Excel spreadsheets, Smartsheet’s, or similar and prepare dashboards to provide visibility to stakeholders.
Education and Experience:
- Achieved a Bachelor of Science degree.
- 1-3 years of science-related industry experience.
- Experience working inside of a laboratory space (proper PPE, following procedures, understanding of bio safety).
- Experience with monitoring clinical study specimen collection, handling, storage, and inventorying a plus.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Adept with learning and using web-based data entry systems.
- Strong business communication skills and collaboration acumen.
- Ability to read and interpret business related correspondences and formulate actions based on listed needs.
- The ideal candidate will be available to work onsite at our Cambridge location occasionally.
- Exceptional organizational and recordkeeping skillsets, with strong attention to detail.
