Job Summary:

• We are seeking a dedicated and outstanding Scientist II to join our R&D team in Guilford, CT.
• This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of next-generation sequencing assays for clinical laboratories.
• In this role, you will be part of a diverse technology team, ensuring accurate operation of sample preparation, instrument calibration and operation, and data analysis.
• With a background in molecular biology, biochemistry, or a related team, and substantial hands-on laboratory experience, you will play a crucial role in our ambitious projects.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop next-generation sequencing assays for clinical use.
• Prepare samples, operate instruments, analyze data, and write study protocols and reports.
• Next-generation sequencing applying Ion Torrent Technology.
• Developing diagnostic assays that align with regulatory standards.
• Crafting testing protocols and compiling project reports.
• Product verification and validation processes.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Molecular Biology or similar field with 2+ years of industry/academic experience, Master’s degree with limited experience, or equivalent work experience.
• JMP experience a plus.
• Experience with next-generation sequencing, preferably with Ion Torrent Technologies.
• Experience in a clinical or core laboratory facility.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Proven skills in molecular biology (including DNA, RNA, and protein handling, PCR, qPCR, quantification methods).
• Knowledge of sequencing and molecular amplification methods.
• Proficiency in basic data analysis and Microsoft Office.
• Basic knowledge of genomics.
• Ability to strictly follow molecular biology protocols.
• Comfort working in a large, collaborative, and busy laboratory environment.
• Familiarity with design control documentation.
