Job Description
Job Summary:
- Under close supervision in a hands-on educational laboratory setting, the Laboratory Support Technician provides daily operational support to ensure laboratory functions are carried out efficiently and in compliance with regulatory standards.
- This role offers exposure to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and regulatory guidelines including 21 CFR Parts 210 and 211 and ISO 17025.
- The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, team-focused, and eager to Product practical experience in a microbiological testing environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop working knowledge of the Quality System and Laboratory Information System (LIMS)
Support daily operations of a microbiological testing laboratory, including:
- Receiving, unpacking, and organizing customer samples for processing.
- Preparing and organizing customer returns.
- Discarding customer samples under supervision.
- Performing daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning of laboratory equipment.
- Assisting with laboratory inventory management.
- Restocking consumables and materials used in sample processing.
- Operating laboratory equipment (e.g., laser cutter) under supervision.
- Properly disposing of microbial cultures, chemicals, sharps, recyclables, and glass.
- Adhere to all laboratory safety policies, SOPs, safety manuals, and MSDS/SDS requirements.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Education:
- Associate degree in Microbiology or related scientific discipline required
(If selected for a full-time position, an Associate degree is required at minimum.) - Experience
- 0–2 years of related experience in a laboratory setting
- Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered

Physical Demands:

Work Environment:
- Laboratory and general office environment.
- Typically low noise level.
- Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including lab coat, gloves, and closed-toe shoes when in laboratory areas.
