Job Summary:
- Clinical pharmacists role ensures the injured workers are receiving the right care through the appropriate clinical intervention method.
- Responsible for collaborating with cross functional clinical experts to make recommendations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assessing prescription appropriateness by reviewing patient medical history, drug interactions, and potential adverse effects to identify potential medication issues and recommend adjustments.
- Utilizing data analytics to identify trends in medication usage, potential drug safety concerns, and opportunities for cost savings.
- Review medication requests from providers to determine if medication should be dispensed or not.
- Collaborating with healthcare providers to educate them on appropriate medication use, including clinical guidelines and drug interactions.
Education and Certifications / Licenses:
- Bachelor of Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy from a college of pharmacy accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) Current active pharmacy (RPh) license in good standing # of Professional (J.D., M.D., D.D.S. or PharmD).
- Pharmacy (RPh) License.
Experience:
- 2 plus years experience (looking for someone not right out of Pharmacy school) Candidates with several years of experience will be considered.
- Must have 2 to 5 years of experience Writing clinical papers for workers compensation claims.
- Must have experience in Medical writing , workers compensation background.
- Basic Excel experience required to search data.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Strong communication (both verbal and written) and collaboration skills.
- Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills to evaluate clinical data and make informed medication decisions.
- Samples of Medical writing experience highly preferred.
- Not patient facing requirement.
- Must have good written communication skills.
- Must have analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Number of cases to be completed per week will be discussed with candidates.
- Must be available for the training during regular business hours on weekdays.
- Assignments will be given on Monday and will be given time to complete until next Sunday.
- Candidate has flexibility to work their own hours but must be honest.
