Job Description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- The incumbent may be asked to perform other function-related activities in addition to the below mentioned responsibilities as reasonably required by business needs.
- Performs minimally complex experiments with input from supervisor.
- Understands experimental goal and may provide input to the experimental design.
- Analyses data from individual experiments with input from supervisor and documents work in laboratory notebook or report.
- Able to summarize a group of experiments.
- With instruction from supervisor, may write study protocols and reports to support V&V studies.
- Effectively communicates with peers and supervisor.
- Able to present data in group meetings.
- Willing and able to work with Universal Precautions when handling different specimen types including, but not limited to blood, stool, urine, respiratory swabs, vaginal swabs, etc.
Physical Demands:
- Sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.
- Stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Lifting/moving and carrying products weighing up to 40 pounds.
- Exposure to moving mechanical parts, vibration and/or moderate noise levels.
- Exposure to hazardous chemicals or other materials.
- Exposure to blood.
Education:
- B.A./B.S. Molecular Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry or related field.
Experience:
- 0 – 2 years post-baccalaureate laboratory experience in academia or industry
- M.S. without thesis.
