Job Description

Job Summary:

  • The Analytical Chemist Associate performs physical, chemical or bioanalytical characterization of finished product or raw material test samples.
  • Associates apply various chemistry techniques and scientific methods to characterize test materials to enable client’s experimental objectives.
  • We’re in search of a qualified laboratory contractor for execution of lab work including making prototypes, placing stability, and doing simple physical/chemical measurements.
  • Seeking a lab contractor with experience in following lab procedures, lab safety and in formulation lab work, including weighing, combining and mixing powder & liquid materials.
  • This work request outlines the Product of work and required skills.
  • Project Product Prototype Development & Lab Testing:
  • The contractor will be responsible for executing lab work to make topical prototypes using a variety of actives and excipients.
  • These prototypes are intended for comprehensive assessment of performance characteristics, including rheology, viscosity, stability, and scent release.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Instrumentation operation, sample analysis, Notebook documentation, reviewing reports, quality systems compliance.
  • Bachelor s Degree in Chemistry or related field.
  • Relevant experience in an academic or industrial lab setting with emphasis on notebook documentation.
  • Ability to analyze and document various types of data.
  • Ability to operate basic lab equipment including pH meters, pipettes, spectrophotometer, etc.
  • Strong math skills, attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with pH, viscosity, and rheology measurements is preferred but not essential.

Must Have:

  • Following lab procedures and making instructions
  • Making formulations (weighing, combining, transferring and mixing powder & liquid materials together)
  • Lab safety behaviors and techniques.
