Job Summary:
- We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Associate Scientist to join the BioDesign team.
- This role will contribute to the design, optimization, and development of therapeutic proteins aimed at improving the lives of patients with immunological, neurodegenerative, and muscular diseases.
- This role is hands-on and lab-focused, contributing directly to antibody and protein production workflows.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Produce antibodies and other recombinant proteins using transient expression and stable cell pool approaches.
- Prepare plasmid DNA.
- Perform plate-based characterization assays (e.g., ELISA, MSD) to assess expression and binding.
- Prepare and analyze samples for flow cytometry–based binding or expression assessments.
- Document experiments, results, and protocols in accordance with internal standards.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor of Science (BS) degree with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
- Master of Science (MS) degree with 0–2 years relevant experience.
- Antibody purification experience.
- Experience with plate-based protein characterization assays.
- Molecular biology experience.
- Immunoassays experience (MSD, ELISA).
- Experience with cell engineering and stable cell line generation.
Required Skills:
- Antibody/protein expression in CHO cells using shake flasks.
- Strong mammalian cell culture technique.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with attention to documentation and record-keeping.
Preferred Skills:
- Flow cytometry sample preparation and data analysis.
